Madame X Gives Us Her All!!
I was fortunate enough to attend two shows at The Wiltern -- the 13th and the 16th. I was Row H on the floor by an aisle for the 13th and had VIP seats in the pit, row CCC off to the left side, on the 16th. I had unique perspectives from both shows. This is definitely a different experience after having attended Madonna's arena and stadium concerts. She interacted with the audience a lot: told some jokes, chatted, and definitely gave her point of view on today's social/political issues. The projections and lighting were TOP NOTCH, equaling any Broadway theatre show. Her amazing dancers and beautiful orchestra were FANTASTIC!! And, Madonna, herself, was in fine form -- she sounded great and put on an incredible performance. This theatre show is definitely a Madame X World: twelve songs were from the most current CD; there were five older songs ("Vogue" and "Like a Prayer" were incredible and had the entire theatre up and dancing -- AMAZING energy!!); snippets of three more older songs; and three songs sung in Portuguese. Be prepared though: the show starts at around 11 p.m. and goes a full two hours and twenty minutes! Honestly, though, NO ONE PUTS ON A LIVE SHOW LIKE THE ONE AND ONLY MADONNA!!!!!
